The purpose of the Digital Transgender Archive (DTA) is to increase the accessibility of transgender history by providing an online hub for digitized historical materials, born-digital materials, and information on archival holdings throughout the world.
Based in Boston, Massachusetts at Northeastern University, the DTA is an international collaboration among more than sixty colleges, universities, nonprofit organizations, public libraries, and private collections.
By digitally localizing a wide range of trans-related materials, the DTA expands access to trans history for academics and independent researchers alike in order to foster education and dialog concerning trans history.

Documenting a Democracy is a National Archives of Australia website - developed in partnership with Australia's eight state and territory government archives and the National Council for the Centenary of Federation - that provides 110 key documents, in both digital and transcription format, relating to the foundation of Australia. Key documents include nine sets of original legal and constitutional instruments for the creation and evolution of the Commonwealth, states and territories governments, accessed by either a place or map search tool. There is a Picture Album of people and places behind the documents; information on how Australia's constitutional boundaries were formed at Places; and an Australian history Timeline which shows what was happening when each document was written. There are also Pathways to documents on the themes of Foundation, Building, Freedoms and Land. This webpage includes a digital map of Aboriginal Australia before the advent of Europeans.

EEBO is an ongoing project providing full text access to publications in the English language produced by printing presses in England and its colonies between 1473 and 1700.
This resource provides a unique and personal view of events in the region from the arrival of the first settlers through to Australian Federation at the close of the nineteenth century. Material includes first-person accounts, letters and diaries, narratives, and other primary source materials.
The Early New Zealand Books Project has been developed by staff at The University of Auckland Library. It provides keyword-searchable text of significant books published about New Zealand in the nineteenth century.

This collection follows the story of trade with Asia, China, Japan and the Middle East; politics; and the rise and fall of the British Empire. It records the challenges of a globalising world and sheds light on many contrasting narratives – from records of powerful political figures, through to the lives of native populations and the individual traders who lived and worked at the edge of Empire. Material includes charters, deeds, statutes, factory records, letters, military documents, treaties, printed books, trading diaries and financial documents.
Access the Library's collection of ebooks which are available for loan. The collection includes over 7000 titles covering fiction and non-fiction, Australian and international material.
The Internet Archive offers over 20,000,000 freely downloadable ebooks and texts. There is also a collection of 1.3 million modern eBooks that may be borrowed by anyone with a free archive.org account.
Based on The English Short Title Catalogue. Nearly 150,000 English-language titles and editions published between 1701 and 1800 will be made available online over the course of the next two years. When complete, the product will allow full-text searching of more than 33 million pages of material, in essence, every significant English-language and foreign-language title printed in the United Kingdom, along with thousands of important works from the Americas. Its scope extends from the earliest printing in England (ca. 1473) through to the end of December, 1800. The Federation of Australian Historical Societies Inc. is the peak body representing the interests of historical societies throughout Australia. The organisation encourages the study and publication of Australian history, the preservation, interpretation and promotion of moveable and built heritage, and public access to historical information and heritage collections. It promotes communication and mutual assistance within the historical society movement and provides a forum for the exchange of ideas on historical matters. Where appropriate, it lobbies federal, state and local governments on issues of concern to historical societies and assists their work in a variety of other ways.

Thus, it not only includes those women transported directly to VDL, but also those who came free and were convicted here during the period of transportation (1804-1853), or those who were transported to NSW and later came to VDL (many of whom came via Norfolk Island).
